Event Booking, Cancellation & Refund Policy
The Little Olive Tree
This policy sets out the terms and conditions relating to event bookings, cancellations, deposits, and refunds at The Little Olive Tree. By confirming a booking with us, you agree to the terms outlined below.
1. Booking Confirmation
A booking will only be confirmed once a deposit has been received by The Little Olive Tree. All bookings are subject to availability and written confirmation from us.
The person making the booking accepts responsibility for ensuring all guests within the party are aware of and comply with these terms and conditions.
2. Deposits
All deposits paid to secure an event booking are non-refundable.
Deposits are taken to reserve the table, staffing, preparation time, and resources required for the event. In accordance with UK consumer law, this reflects a genuine pre-estimate of losses incurred as a result of cancellation and is therefore retained if a booking is cancelled.
3. Cancellation by the Customer
Any cancellation request must be made in writing by email or letter and will only be effective from the date it is received by The Little Olive Tree.
Where a customer has paid for an event in full, refunds may be considered provided at least 7 clear days’ notice is given prior to the scheduled event date.
Any approved refund will exclude the non-refundable deposit amount.
No refunds will be issued for cancellations made less than 7 days before the event date, as costs relating to staffing, food preparation, suppliers, and event planning will already have been incurred.
Failure to attend the event, or cancellation on the day of the event, will result in all monies paid being retained.
4. Amendments to Guest Numbers or Event Details
Any requested changes to guest numbers, timings, menus, or event arrangements must be submitted in writing and are subject to approval.
We cannot guarantee that changes can be accommodated within 7 days of the event date.
Reductions in guest numbers made within 7 days of the event may still be charged at the originally agreed amount.
5. Cancellation by The Little Olive Tree
In the unlikely event that we are unable to proceed with your booking due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, government restrictions, utility failure, or other force majeure events, we will endeavour to offer an alternative date where possible.
If an alternative date cannot be agreed, a refund of monies paid, including the deposit, will be offered at our discretion where required by law.
The Little Olive Tree shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential losses, including travel, accommodation, or third-party costs.
6. Consumer Rights
Nothing within this policy is intended to affect or exclude your statutory rights under applicable UK consumer protection legislation, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
